Subsidy for municipal and community photovoltaic power plants
Receive support of up to 45% of the costs for the PV system and an additional 30% of the expenses for establishing battery storage and other investments.
The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic will launch, from 1 July 2025, a new subsidy programme providing financial support for joint municipal and community projects for the construction of new photovoltaic power plants with an installed capacity of up to 1 MWp.

The call for the programme RES+ No. 4/2025 – Municipal and Community Photovoltaic Systems was announced under the European Union’s Modernisation Fund.
Who can apply for the subsidy?
- regions
- municipalities and associations of municipalities
- communities of municipalities
- autonomous municipal districts and city quarters
- contributory organisations established by any of the above applicants, or legal entities 100% owned by them, including their fully owned organisations and companies
- energy communities with the participation of at least one of the above-mentioned entities
- churches and religious societies, their associations, and their registered legal entities
What is the subsidy intended for?
- joint projects for the construction of PV plants with a single grid connection point, located within one or up to three neighbouring municipalities
- joint PV projects implemented on buildings or land owned by the applicant or by organisations established or owned by the applicant
- battery storage systems
- hydrogen production systems using water electrolysis
- necessary investments in the renovation of roof structures where PV installation will take place
- modernisation of electrical installations in buildings where new PV systems are installed
- procurement of EMS, including control software for optimising the production and consumption of generated electricity (incl. project preparation, supervision, and HSE)

Applications that meet the criteria required by the call and the programme, but whose ranking exceeds the available allocation of the call, will be placed in a so-called reserve list. The size of the reserve list is a maximum of 20% of the total allocation of the call.
