From December 15, 2025, energy communities will be able to apply for subsidy support from the Modernisation Fund of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic (SFŽP) for photovoltaic power plants and battery storage systems.

KOMUNERG Program No. 1/2025 aims to support the development of community energy in the Czech Republic. It focuses on assisting municipalities, municipal associations, and energy communities in financing investments in renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, and smart consumption management. The program is prepared by the State Environmental Fund (SFŽP) under the Modernisation Fund, with the main goal of enhancing energy self-sufficiency, reducing energy costs, and supporting regional development.

Supported Activities

  • construction of new photovoltaic power plants,
  • energy storage systems (e.g., battery storage),
  • smart energy consumption management systems.

Who Can Apply

Subsidies are available to energy communities, which are legally non-profit and enable energy sharing among their members.

Purpose of the Support

Reducing energy expenses, increasing energy independence, and strengthening the resilience of households and municipalities against market price fluctuations.

Total Available Funding

A total of CZK 1 billion has been allocated for this support.
